How to start earning as a Storbor custodian

June 13, 2026 · 6 min read

If you have a garage you can't park in, a shed that's half empty, or a corner of the basement gathering dust, you already have what people in your neighbourhood are paying for: secure space, close to home.

Storbor is a marketplace that connects you (a custodian) with people nearby who need somewhere to keep their things — for an hour, a weekend, or a season. You set the price, you set the rules, and you get paid securely after every booking. Here's how the whole thing works.

1. Decide what space you're offering

Almost any safe, enclosed or defined space can earn:

You don't need to clear the whole thing. A custodian renting out "half a two-car garage" is completely normal. Measure the usable area honestly — that number is what renters search on.

2. Build a listing that earns trust

Your listing is the entire sales pitch, so make it easy to say yes:

Storbor tip: Your exact address is never public. Renters see your approximate area while browsing, and only get the precise address once a booking is confirmed. List with confidence.

3. Set your price and availability

You're in control. Storbor lets you charge by the hour and offer overnight or extended rates for longer stays. Not sure where to start? Our pricing guide walks through it.

Going on vacation, or need the garage back for a project? Block those days with one tap so nobody can book while you're unavailable.

4. Get verified and accept your first booking

Every Storbor member is identity-verified, so you always know who you're dealing with. When a request comes in, you'll see who it is, what they want to store, and for how long. Approve it, and Storbor shares your access details with that renter only.

At drop-off, both sides can snap photos to document the condition of the space and the items. It takes ten seconds and saves headaches later.

5. Get paid

Payments run through Storbor securely — the renter pays up front, and your earnings are paid out to you after the booking. No chasing cash, no awkward conversations. Storbor takes a small commission to run the platform, identity checks, payments, and the Protection Plan; you keep the rest.

What makes a great custodian

The custodians who earn the most aren't the ones with the biggest spaces — they're the ones who:

That's the whole job. Read the rest of the Custodian Playbook to get your space ready, price it right, and choose the security that fits.

Got space? Put it to work.

List your garage, shed, driveway, or yard on Storbor and earn from space you're already paying for.
